CranioSacral Therapy

What is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral therapy is a subtle and profound healing form. It involves working directly with the body’s natural capacity for self-repair to treat a wide range of conditions. “Cranium” is the Latin word for the bone structure of your head, the skull. “Sacrum” is the Latin word for the triangular shaped bone at the bottom of the spine. CranioSacral therapy really is a “head to toe” treatment encompassing the entire body including nerves, bones, ligaments, fascias, muscles and organs.

Any type of trauma is registered by and in our body. If it isn’t properly addressed it will create blockages.

Those “blockages” might be felt as pain and tension first but then those can produce chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, migraines, headaches, and fatigue.

What is the treatment process?
I will start with an assessment of your state of health, health concerns, and health history.
In a typical session, you will usually lie fully-clothed on a treatment couch. The therapist will make contact by placing their hands lightly on your body and tuning in. The corrections are sometimes felt by the client but always by the therapist. Possible sensations of release are heat, vibration, shifting of tension or pain, bouts of happiness and sadness, to mention a few. The therapist will safely guide you through this process.

The first thing you will probably notice is a sense of deep relaxation, which will generally last throughout the session. Through the release of tension the body can start or continue the healing process.

What conditions does CranioSacral Therapy address?
Migraines and Headaches
Neck and Back Pain
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
Injuries
Fatigue
Insomnia
Scoliosis
Orthopedic Problems
and more   (please, inquire)

How  many sessions do I need?
This depends on how severe and longstanding the health issue has been.
The first session gives you a good sense of the relaxation that you are going to experience and can be enough in acute problems to experience an improvement.
In chronic situation it is recommended to receive regular treatments over a period of several weeks or months. It takes at least 6 to 10 sessions to notice a profound improvement.
